Photography as immersive experience

How can disconnected images tell one story about dark histories? An-My Lê’s “Fourteen Views” is an immersive installation of a series of photographs taken in different years and places. The circular panorama connects idealized landscapes, all of which are maintained through military and colonial means.

Hear how an archivist and exhibition photographer connect these entangled histories to their personal experiences of being Black and from the South and first generation Filipino-American, respectively. “The artist wants to remind us that memory flows, memory is constant, history is constant, and those things are shared.”
