We all know someone who is a “perfectionist”. They stress about doing the simplest of things in a way that brings perfection. Maybe you’re someone who works on a logo design project or an illustration and finds that they stop working on it because it’ll never be “perfect”.
In this video, Will Paterson shows how perfectionism can be overcome when in the design and creative industry and the negative impacts it has on your and your creativity.
No one is perfect. No project or logo (no matter how much you want to believe that it is) is perfect. Our brains give ourselves unrealistic expectations that we can’t hold ourselves too, it’s too unfair. It would be simple to just say, “I’m going to force myself out of this perfectionist lifestyle” but in reality you can’t. It’s all about mindsets.
If you’re someone who experiences perfectionism I would always suggest you speak to someone professional when you feel that it’s having a negative impact on your life. However, if you’re like myself and need to bring yourself back down to earth, this is the video you want to watch to do just that!
