Ei Arakawa | The Tanks

New York-based Japanese artist Ei Arakawa creates a series of collaborative performances and actions during his week residency at the Tanks, Tate Modern.

In this film, we meet the artist whose work takes inspiration from the Jikken Kobo and Gutai groups whose activities took place in 1950s post-war Japan, exploring performance and cross-disciplinary action.

He performed along with the works by contemporary artists such as Jutta Koether, Kerstin Brätsch, Stefan Tcherepnin, Silke Otto-Knapp and Florian Pumhösl.
