Edushape Ltd. has been named a Gold award-winner in the Annual European Product Design Awards® (EPDA) for Fun Z Balls, an inventive toy set that keeps young children captivated and amused. A standout among more than 500 product submissions from 40 countries, the company’s innovative Fun Z Ball designs are ahead of the curve in more ways than one.

With quirky appeal, each Fun Z Ball responds to gravity differently. Red is amusingly off center and travels sideways. Yellow is weighted inside and rolls around in a dizzying “Z” direction. Blue is ridged, so it weaves and wobbles. Kids love them. Easy to grasp. Wipes clean.

In creating Fun Z Balls for the 6 month-plus group, the Edushape design team analyzed how balls behave not only when they’re tossed in the air, but when they’re rolled. The goal was to encourage children to crawl, and the challenge was to make the balls travel slowly and stay within reach. After exhaustive experimentation with dozens of unusual shapes, three brand new forms evolved.

Unlike regular balls that roll fast and far, Fun Z Balls take their time rolling and stay closer to children. Bonus: each ball makes an appealing sound when squeezed. Excellent for developing motor skills and encouraging sensory play, Fun Z Balls also introduce children to concepts of logic and early science.
