MASS Lecture: Material Methods with AOMD, Studio KA and YAA Projects

In the 2023-2024 academic year, the student group MASS, based at London Metropolitan University, held a series of talks around the theme ‘Anti-Apathetic Architecture’.

The students asked the question “What if the architect was to move away from a position of apathy and instead diverge to practice fundamentally rooted in care; for the human, non-human and prosperity of our planet. What would an anti-apathetic architecture be like?”

In this episode, Michael Dillon (AOMD), Katherine Nolan (Studio KA), Alex Butterworth (Studio KA) and Nana Biamah-Ofosu (YAA Projects) take part in a panel discussion titled ‘Material Methods’. They discuss, among other things, the ways in which low carbon materials can be used to create sensitive and relevant architecture for our contemporary condition.
