Can Copenhagen progress from being the cycling capital of the world to being a car free city?

An ideasSpace presentation with Robert Martin, JAJA Architects Copenhagen.

Despite having one of the world’s most extensive cycling networks, car ownership in Copenhagen has increased by some 30% in the past 20 years. There are now more cars than there are available parking spaces. Should this trend be put into reverse gear? Will residents be persuaded by new mobility technologies and sharing schemes? Should parking spaces be reclaimed for other purposes?

Robert Martin, a research-based design architect and Head of Mobility at JAJA Architects in Copenhagen, takes us on a journey through backcasting, prototyping and other city planning techniques to find out.

ideasSPACE is a collaboration between the Urban Design Group, Urban Nous and Christopher Martin of Urban Movement.
