Over lockdown, I’ve been spending my time designing a brand new font, Lockdown Sans. Many designers have tried and failed to create their own clean san serif typeface and so in this video I’m going to show you the overview of designing a font inside of Glyphs 3.
Always start with the letter N. Font design is a system, every letter needs to be consistent and work well together with every other letter, so when we start to create the idea of a font the N and O give the general characteristics of the design. We then use the components that create these letters for the rest of the font design.
