Ever bumped into Lighten and Darken blend modes in Photoshop? Learn how the not-so-talked-about blend modes work and how can they be of immense importance to you, whether you want to create an impression on any surface like paper or make certain areas of the layer intelligently invisible or visible based on the layer which is beneath it, i.e. the “Underlying Layer”.
In this tutorial, through some interesting illustrations and examples, we will learn how these blend modes (Lighten and Darken) work, briefly discussing the interesting math behind it and what can be their practical applications. These are indeed very powerful and useful blend modes, however they are often ignored and unfortunately not much used. Guys, it’s fun, don’t be intimidated by the math, was just kidding.
