“Storytelling in the Archives” is the first in a new series of forums designed to engage debates around models of archiving performance, presentation formats, and the relationships between lens-based media and live art. MoMA curator Ana Janevksi and guests consider the multiple forms through which documents, records and recordings pose problems and opportunities for artists, scholars, performing arts venues, and museums alike in terms of legacy, permanence, or assimilation into existing institutional and presenting contexts.
Special guests include: Cori Olinghouse, Trisha Brown Company Archive Director and interdisciplinary artist; Marvin J. Taylor, Director of Fales Library and Special Collections; and Boris Charmatz, Choreographer, dancer and director of Musée de la dance in Rennes, France.
