Royal College of Art graduate Philipp Schenk-Mischke has created a series of objects that attempt to bring an element of strangeness to everyday objects.
His project Process Plug-Ins includes a set of ceramic vases, named BTM Ceramics, and two small furniture pieces made of marble and anodised aluminium, Primitive Fixings.
Part of Schenk-Mischke’s masters in Design Products at the RCA, the two-part project investigates the results of interfering with manufacturing processes.
“My goal with this project is to look at traditional processes – such as modes of manufacture, assembly or use – and spoil them of their straightforwardness and predictability,” says Schenk-Mischke.
