Nigel Coates unravels the ideas behind his Guide to Ecstacity through an exploration of the form of the book – including its graphics and design – and its content.
Coates is a former AA student who also taught here from 1978-88, co-founding the NAT group in 1983 with several of his graduates. His practice, Branson Coates Architecture, has completed many projects in Japan and Europe, including the NCPM building in Sheffield and the Body Zone in the Millennium Dome. He is Professor of Architectural Design at the RCA.
