Mixing Realities: Art, Architecture and Curation



A conversation on mixing realities in art and architecture with Daniel Birnbaum [Director of Acute Art, London], Ulrika Karlsson [Professor KTH, Stockholm/Guest Professor SAC Städelschule Architecture Class, Frankfurt] and Marcelyn Gow [Design Theory & Pedagogy program coordinator SCI-Arc, Los Angeles] Birnbaum, Karlsson and Gow consider the role of contemporary technologies in transforming curation and the ways in which we experience art and architecture.  

Daniel Birnbaum is director of Acute Art in London, a laboratory exploring art and technology. He is professor of philosophy at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and the author of numerous books on art and philosophy. In 2009 he was director of the 53rd Venice Biennale. 

Ulrika Karlsson is a founding member of the architectural design and research collaboratives Servo Stockholm and Brrum. She is professor of Architecture at KTH School of Architecture in Stockholm and guest professor at SAC Städelschule Architecture Class, Frankfurt. 

Marcelyn Gow is a partner in Servo Los Angeles. She is the Design Theory and Pedagogy program coordinator at SCI-Arc, Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles.
