miniki – the kitchen that isn’t there! A kitchen that’s not there? minik is the solution to an old problem. In small apartments where the kitchen and lounge are often one room, there is a need for the kitchen to disappear after use. This is the only way to turn the living room back into a room to live in. And as often as not the kitchen unit in the conference rooms of smaller offices is simply an eyesore. How often do we wish during important customer conferences that the kitchen unit would simply disappear or turn into an elegant sideboard.
Different modules are available to match all individual requirements. These modules can be combined to suit all tastes and so provide the perfect kitchen for all purposes. There are kitchens for all requirements – from the mini-kitchen with just one sink and some storage room for small offices to kitchenettes with, for instance, a fridge and two cooking zones, or a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with the full range of functions. This makes miniki a flexible, versatile, multi-purpose kitchen system. Simple to assemble and with its numerous combination options, the modules can be adapted swiftly and easily to any kind of setting.
Modern nomadism is replacing the throw-away society!
An increasingly mobile society needs to be able to react flexibly to changing situations and needs furniture that can meet these requirements. You no longer have to part with your dear old, familiar kitchen. Seen from this angle, investing in a high quality, long-life item of furniture starts to make sense economically and environmentally.
Handmade in Germany
The top priorities for miniki are quality and long life. miniki sees itself as an alternative to the throwaway society and is a response to the challenges of a modern, environmentally responsible world. To meet this claim, each miniki is conscientiously manufactured in Germany and equipped with high-quality parts. The materials used meet the highest demands on quality and sustainable production (FSC). The goal of sustainability is also reflected in the design of the miniki. A kitchen made to accompany different stages of life and to be integrated into various rooms has to display a timeless design language. For this reason, Tobias Schwarzer deliberately dispensed with any trendy style elements. miniki is born of a minimalist, elementary design philosophy. The focus is on function and the conscious and meticulous combining of materials. Inspired hand-crafted production and exact proportioning are assets that retain their attraction and appeal to the senses even after decades.

About the miniki philosophy
With the miniki concept, the two idealists Bärbel Muhlack and Tobias Schwarzer pursue the vision of making cooking and living an aesthetic delight. The functionality of a kitchen should only be visible on second glance. The miniki system responds to ongoing changes in society by presenting innovative products marked by formal clarity and timeless design.
