Merimna – What does it look like to cope within a climate of chaos and uncertainty?



Bhumanyu Nehra’s ‘Merimna’ features a sequence of scenes depicting the simultaneous chaos and banality of everyday life. Its title comes from the Greek word μεριμνα, which translates to ‘care, anxiety, and worry’, with its roots in the word μεριζω, meaning ‘to divide, to separate.’

“It’s been a devastating year for all of us. We as humans have been doing so much damage not just to earth but to our humanity. I hope we get to our senses and I hope that happens soon. [..] More power to all the humans for whom it’s been hard to cope. Please take care of yourselves and the people around you.”
