Marcos Novak (January 31, 1997)

After being introduced by Michael Dobry, Marcos Novak discusses his idea of “trans-architecture,” in which the built environment is augmented with informational and experiential layers. Before addressing architecture specifically, Novak begins a survey of some of his earlier work involving generative mechanisms, computational design, and 3D animation. Novak demonstrates his concept of the world as represented by fields, while citing the work of physicists, mathematicians, and hackers as primary influences.
