Lynne Ramsay’s 1970s Christmas in Scotland



Best known for her debut feature Ratcatcher and her 2011 adaptation of novel We Need to Talk About Kevin, the Scottish filmmaker’s breakout moment was with 1998 short film Gasman. Winning awards at Cannes Film Festival and Scottish BAFTAs, the film tells the story of a deceitful father living a double life in 1970s—crystallizing the working-class experience in Scotland at the time.
