King’s Cross Architectural Walking Tour – NLA

Discover London’s latest architecture on the New London Neighbourhood Tours. Tours take place twice a month, on the second Saturday and the last Wednesday of each month.

Explore how the capital’s buildings and streetscapes are changing through our guided walking and cycling tours of London’s neighbourhoods – each distinct in their character and history. Discover major new architectural landmarks alongside lighter touch interventions, and how these projects are being embedded into and are adding new dimensions to the fabric of the city’s historic urban context.

VICTORIA TOUR –
Book-ended by Buckingham Palace to the west and Westminster Abbey to the east, Victoria is a truly unique neighborhood, experiencing unprecedented new developments and rebuilds.

Much of Victoria Street has been redeveloped in recent years. A combination of architects PLP Architects, Lynch Architects and Benson + Forsyth are creating Nova – a 6-acre hub on the western perimeter of Victoria. Our walk will explore the renovation of Cardinal Place by EPR Architects at the heart of the area. Adjacent to the Cathedral Piazza, an entire retrofit of 1970’s classic Elsom Pack and Roberts’ Ashdown House (renamed 123 Victoria Street) has been refurbished by Aukett Swanke, while a brand new development by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects restores cinema to Victoria, side by side with quality big-name restaurant chains at ground level. We will discover how these projects are helping to create a fresh Victoria “high street” mix, which the area historically lacked.
