Lecture date: 2007-01-18
Hélène Binet’s lecture coincides with an AA exhibition of her work which includes a series of landscape photographs shot in Switzerland. Binet has photographed some of the world’s most seminal buildings and has been commissioned by leading architects, notably Zaha Hadid. Binet’s aim is to interpret rather than document an object, until the photograph assumes the status of an independent work of art. Her work shows a world of shadows, light and dark etched across the details she focuses on.
Hélène Binet was born in Switzerland, studied photography in Rome, and is now based in London. Her work has featured in numerous solo and group shows worldwide.
