Graphics Project Talks Day 2: Is Architecture Graphic Design? Is Graphic Design Architecture?

Juliette Cezzar is a designer, writer, and Assistant Professor of Communication Design at the New School’s Parsons School of Design, where she was the Director of the BFA Communication Design and BFA Design & Technology programs from 2011–2014. She served as President of the board of directors of AIGA/NY from 2014–2016. She holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University and a B.Arch in Architecture from Virginia Tech. She established her small studio, e.a.d., in 2005. She is the co-author, with Sue Apfelbaum, of the book Designing the Editorial Experience, a primer for print, web and mobile.

The Graphics Project is an annual series of lectures, discussions, and portfolio reviews exploring the role of graphic design within the field of architecture.

Over two weekends, we examine various methods of visual communication used to convey concepts to both specialist and general audiences.

These events aim to help students build a successful graduation portfolio while simultaneously unpacking the topics, tools, and trends of contemporary graphic design.

Organized by Yoonjai Choi, Columbia GSAPP.
Open to all current Columbia Students.
