Award winning architect Dorte Mandrup presents work which exemplifies her creative approaches to dealing with challenging briefs and extreme locations. Her work is characterised by a deep understanding of landscape, craft, and material considerations. Despite the unique, creative and sculptural qualities of her work, the remote locations and site challenges necessitate the use of industrialised construction and prefabrication for their realisation. This presentation addresses this apparent incongruity, and presents how these constraints are leveraged to acheive beauty and resonance in architecture.
