Ed Burton’s works such as the notorious sodaconstructor have defined the contemporary computer/interaction art domain. He presents previous and current work of the soda studio. Burton is Sodas Research and Development Director and is always seeking new ideas for new technologies. He is the original culprit behind sodaplay, the BAFTA-award winning java toy that exemplifies his peculiar passion for dynamic interaction facilitating creative play and emergent behaviour.
Ed Burton’s current research interests are reflected in his doctoral thesis applying artificial intelligence as a framework to represent and investigate the way young children learn to draw. This lecture has been organised by the New Media and Info Systems Research Cluster.
