Each year, DigitalFUTURES honors visionary contributions across design, theory, computation, and critical practice. Following past recipients Ross Lovegrove (2023) and John Frazer (2024), two true godfathers of design and computational architecture, the 2025 International Award recognizes a figure shaping the future of intelligence itself.
✨ This year’s award is presented to Blaise Agüera y Arcas — in celebration of his groundbreaking book What Is Intelligence? and his profound, often unseen work advancing AI in the arts. From influential TED Talks to curating the world’s first exhibition of AI-generated art, and founding Google’s Artists + Machine Intelligence group, Blaise has continuously expanded the cultural and creative horizons of AI.
Currently Vice President & Fellow at Google, Blaise serves as CTO of Technology & Society and is the founder of Paradigms of Intelligence (Pi), leading research at the intersection of neural computing, sociality, evolution, and artificial life.
