Behnaz Farahi is an Iranian-born designer, architect, and creative technologist whose decade of work fuses computational design, responsive materials, and critical theory; she is best known for interactive “second skin” wearables and kinetic surfaces that explore the body, emotion, and the politics of the gaze, and she now directs the Critical Matter research group at the MIT Media Lab.
