Responding to the environment through movement, dancer Casper Tveteraas Hauge from Ballet National de Marseille captures the unique pulse that courses through the French city for the short film Casper Danse Marseille. Immersed in the chaos and rhythm of Marseille, director Théo Vincent sought to illustrate the city’s textures through its rarely-seen spaces and discreet corners, channelling the raw force of the streets and the sea beyond.
Recognizing the loud, vibrant landscape as a place where sound can be a source of overwhelm, Vincent worked with Slovak sound designer Samuel Jurkovič to transform the roar of the city into a visceral sonic experience.
