“I’m optimistic about high streets, they are incredibly resilient,” says Holly Lewis of We Made That. She tells Peter Murray that there is something about lots of small units next to each other. “They have been able to adapt to changes in the past and will do again”. But she warns that Permitted Development, allowing retail units to be converted to residential without planning permission, could be their death warrant.
