In Lake Nicaragua, the volcano Concepción exerts mysterious forces over the island of Ometepe; odd meteorological formations gather overhead while residents farm, animals sleep, children play, and winds coarse through trees in a quiet rhythm shaped by an unpredictable, mythic overseer. Director Khristine Gillard creates a portrait of daily life imbued with something magical and enigmatic, the presence of something ineffably larger than oneself.
Directed by Khristine Gillard.
