Catching up with architect Kim Herforth Nielsen, 3XN

Kicking off the 2024 RIBA+VitrA Challenge: Rethink talks series, architect Kim Herforth Nielsen (founder of Danish architectural practice 3XN) joined us at RIBA North in Liverpool to discuss their boundary-pushing Quay Quarter Tower. Known as the world’s first ‘upcycled skyscraper’, Quay Quarter Tower won the World Architecture Festival’s World Building of the Year.

In this video, Kim discusses his biggest career challenges and successes while offering advice for other architects on creating a more sustainable future.
