Architecture Aloud – Space Popular interviewing Adam Nathaniel Furman

In the third instalment of our Architecture Aloud series, Space Popular has chosen to speak with designer Adam Nathaniel Furman. As a graduate of the Architectural Association, Adam reflects on how his work relates to his architectural training but also the freedom (or struggles) of working outside or across the boundaries of architecture as a registered profession. Listen to a very personal account of how he sees design and architecture as embodying an expression of identity, articulated through many means of communications, from poetry and blog posts to videos and animations. Hear about his struggle with ephemerality and his connection with Richard Norman Shaw and the protagonist in L.K Huysman’s novel À rebours (Against the Grain), a main work of the decadent movement.

Architecture Aloud is an architectural relay of conversations between architects and designers linked to RIBA’s Public Programmes.
