Anne Lacaton from Lacaton and Vassal presents various projects – public buildings, houses, fittings – which illustrate the way the practice works and what it looks for in architecture: simplicity without austerity, the minimum, not minimalism, low costs for large volumes, rigour and lightness, accuracy and poetry, efficiency and free concepts.
Lacaton and Vassal both trained at the Ecole dArchitecture de Bordeaux and are qualified town planners. They have won many design competitions and have exhibited and lectured widely.
