Roughly 50% of man’s carbon footprint is related to the construction industry and the design and operation of buildings. Transsolar is regarded internationally as the cutting edge in Climate Engineering working with architects like Frank Gehry from the inception of important projects to develop new technology and building strategies. Their website is a model of active innovation for the environmental community.
Thomas is partner and managing director of Transsolar, an engineering firm with offices in Stuttgart, Munich, Paris and New York. He collaborates with world known architecture firms on numerous international design projects. He is a specialist in energy efficiency, user comfort and sustainable urban design. Auer has developed concepts for buildings around the world noted for their innovative strategies — as integral part of signature architecture. Auer has taught at Yale University and was a visiting professor at the ESA in Paris and other Universities. He speaks frequently at conferences and received the Treehugger “best of green” award in 2010.
