Not far from the beach, in a secluded leafy street of Brighton, sits a modern family home that exemplifies contemporary architecture and interior design. Brighton House by InForm was designed to maximise the lifestyle potential of the unique and challenging site.
Construction of the house called on contemporary materials of concrete, glass and steel. The application of these is minimalist, sculptural and monochromatic, with architectural features such as curved walls and a double storey void. This restrained, considered finish allows both architecture and materials to shine. Outdoor spaces have not been excluded from this thoughtful approach to the modern family home. A deep, north-west facing garden has been landscaped, so too has a pool and a courtyard which extends from the kid’s dedicated play area.
The strong materiality and presence of the modern family home is countered by its interior design. A marble splashback in the kitchen, timber oak floors and sweeping linen curtains all soften the space. Furniture throughout the home also successfully brings warmth and comfort to the house, while keeping in line with the stylish, contemporary feel of the home.
The clients, who embarked on this project with InForm for the seamless process and quality outcome, have not only gained an architecturally significant house – they have gained a modern family home; a place for family and friends to gather, which is a joy to wake up in every day.
