Mahault Albarracin is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of cognitive science, artificial intelligence, philosophy, and computational social science. Her research proposes that intelligence is not something contained within an individual human or machine, but emerges through the interaction of agents with one another and with their environments. Her work therefore points toward intelligence as distributed, relational and collective – a particularly useful framework for understanding human–AI systems in which intelligence increasingly resides not in either the human or the machine alone, but in the interaction between them.
