This Forum celebrates a keystone text of feminist art history published in 1971 in protest against systemic inequality and exclusion. Reflecting 50 years later, artists and scholars historicize more recent shifts in the world (#MeToo, Black Lives Matter, Indigenous social movements) and the discipline of feminist critical theory that has made possible the understanding of Nochlin’s prescient interventions.
