Planning Cities Around the Known Unknown

Greg Lindsay, Senior Fellow at New Cities Foundation and Contributing Writer at Fast Company NYC talks about what we can do to improve our urban design. “Cities are not machines but they are not living creatures either. They are social reactors – they fuse together social networks, create network organisms.” Greg devotes part of his lecture to big companies such as Google or Facebook. These companies need spaces with urban energies where people connect more, share themselves, their pasions, projects, expertise and talents. Big companies also want to maximize serendipity in order to explore the unknown knowns; things we don’t know we know. Let’s look at ways we can leverage the city to make connections – professionally, personally and creatively.

reSITE is an international nonprofit platform based in Prague. We work at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, politics, culture, and economics. We act as a catalyst for social action and innovative leadership.

We encourage an exchange of ideas about making cities more livable, competitive and resilient. We protect and promote public space, architecture, and sustainable development in cities.

Why? To stimulate action for sustainable urban design and therefore better cities. We stand for public space.
