This workshop will provide a detailed overview of architectural applications of diffusion models. Following an introduction on emerging AI architectural toolkits, we will cover both 2D image animation techniques and early text-to-3D techniques. We will use Google Colab notebooks to learn about basic machine learning model setups, and parameters, and use these to create animations with Stable Diffusion 2.0 between image and text prompts. Selected images will be used to generate 2.5D and 3D forms using Grasshopper in Rhinoceros 3D. The resulting outputs will unpack our agency as designers and how AI must be created as an empowering tool vs. a competitive anthropomorphic agent.
