V-Ray vs. D5 Render | Side-by-Side Render Comparison

Can you tell the difference between a D5 Render and a V-Ray render? In this video, we conduct an in-depth, unbiased comparison between two powerhouse render engines: V-Ray 7 for 3ds Max and D5 Render 2.11.

We take a single interior 3D model, originally created in 3ds Max with V-Ray textures, and render it in both programs to see how they stack up in terms of speed, quality, and overall workflow. I’ll walk you through the entire process, from V-Ray’s detailed camera, light, and render settings to matching those settings as closely as possible in D5 Render.

The results might surprise you! V-Ray took nearly 4 hours to render, while D5 finished in just 17 minutes. But which one produced the better image? We’ll compare them side-by-side, looking at dynamic range, reflections, and overall photorealism.
Which renderer do you think wins? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
