In this video, I wanted to check out some of the new features that are included in the new Enscape 2.2 release.
Enscape is a real-time rendering program for SketchUp that I’ve put out several tutorials for in the past. I’ve always been a fan of how easy to use as a rendering program for SketchUp Enscape is.
I was excited to see this version come out, because they launched several new features.

The first thing that I wanted to look at was the new material editor. As a lot of you know, a lot of rendering programs struggle a bit with material editing with SketchUp just because of the way that the materials work. However, Enscape just released their new material editor, which allows you to adjust the way that materials look in renderings. You can use it with some material presets, or adjust materials yourself as well.
They’ve also allowed the ability to adjust your settings while in VR, like time of day, outlines, and other things, meaning you don’t have to jump out of VR to get everything adjusted.
One of the things I’m really excited about is they added the ability to export depth and material maps for post-processing of images within photoshop. These can be VERY useful for things like adding backgrounds and more!
They’ve also added a new keyframe editor tool, which allows you to adjust the settings of individual views in Enscape, like time of day, field of view, and other options.
They’ve also added the ability to batch export any images you’ve selected as a favorite, so you can create multiple different renderings at once!
They’ve also added the ability to add sound to your exported videos, though for me I’d probably add this in Post anyway.
Overall, I’m VERY happy with these new changes. I’ve always been impressed with the ease of use of Enscape, and this update just adds to that. I’m very excited to see what they come up with next!
