Stelarc has used prosthetics, robotics, VR systems, the Internet and biotechnology to explore alternate, intimate and involuntary interfaces with the body. His projects include the Third Hand, Exoskeleton, the Extra Ear and the Prosthetic Head. He has performed and exhibited globally and received a New Media Arts Fellowship from the Australia Council for 2005-07. He is Principal Research Fellow in the Performance Arts Digital Research Unit at Nottingham Trent University.
