The urban space has become heterogeneous, with no precise physical limits, a-territorial (Muñoz, 2009), or disconnected from its own geography (Sorkin, 2011). The products we consume come from far away, our everyday movements reach far and wide, we communicate with the other side of the world at the speed of a click, the scale and complexity of our actions make it hard to perceive the limits of these spaces. We have lost our notion of the city. This lecture will question the limits of the contemporary urban spaces, by taking a new look at the landscape and territory of the city of Lisbon.
Pedro Campos Costa is a founder and managing partner of Campos Costa Architects. Winner of several prizes — Fad 2015, by Arquinfad, “A.prize 2012 Exposynergy” by Milan Triennial, Gyeonggi International Ceramix Biennale, South Korea, “Prémio Valmor” by Lisbon City Hall, “Europe 40 under 40 2012” by European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and “Next Generation” by Metropolis Magazine, New York, among others.
Eduardo Costa Pinto began his graduate studies in Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Lisbon. Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Higher Institute of Agronomy, University of Lisbon. His professional activity started in 2007 and since then has collaborated with several studios in Portugal and ltaly, including, Margem – Arquitectura Paisagista, D-RECTA Urban Management, PROAP, Promontorio Architects, PROAP Italia.
