Royal Gold Medal Lecture 2014 – Joseph Rykwert: Intro



In his Royal Gold Medal Lecture, delivered to a packed Jarvis Hall at the RIBA on Monday 24 Feburary he used the examples of the three architects in the 19th and early 20th centuries who had declined the Royal Gold Medal: John Ruskin, Norman Shaw and William Lethaby to develop his ideas on whether architecture is an art or a profession.
