Rosa Barba | TateShots

Italian artist Rosa Barba brought her beguiling mix of film and sculpture to Tate Modern’s Level 2 gallery.

In her work film projectors command the viewer’s attention as much as the images they project. They are found hanging loosely from the ceiling, or whirring away noisily in the centre of the gallery. In this interview Barba tells us how works like ‘A Private Tableaux’ (filmed in Liverpool’s ventilation towers) and ‘The Long Road’ (documenting a race track in the Californian desert) are like drawings made with a camera.
