Richard Wentworth – So What Do You Expect?

Lecture date: 1995-05-01

Artist and sculptor Richard Wentworth gives a talk to accompany an exhibition at the AA. His work centres on the idea of transformation, of subtly altering and juxtaposing everyday objects which, in turn, fundamentally changes the way we perceive the world around us.

Richard Wentworth is one of the most influential teachers in British art, lecturing from 1971-1987 at Goldsmith’s College, University of London. He was appointed by the prestigious German Academic Exchange Programme (DAAD) to work in Berlin from 1993 to 1994, and in 2002 was made Master of the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford University.

NB: Slight break 12 mins into talk when projector fails. Cuts out during Q & A.
