reSITE Small Talk with James Corner

James Corner, the Founder of James Corner Filed Operations NYC, talks about sharing space in ever denser cities: Our cities are becoming denser and we are going to have to share them, the space as well as resources. But how to make sure that the ever denser city is attractive for people to raise their children? Intelligence of the design has to be both accommodating and supportive of all of different interest groups, from nature lovers to people interested in youth culture or social life. These days cities require more than just parks, gardens and waterfronts. They require more synthetic and inclusive approach to how the city is conceived.

reSITE is an international nonprofit platform based in Prague. We work at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, politics, culture, and economics. We act as a catalyst for social action and innovative leadership.

We encourage an exchange of ideas about making cities more livable, competitive and resilient. We protect and promote public space, architecture, and sustainable development in cities.

Why? To stimulate action for sustainable urban design and therefore better cities. We stand for public space.
