This full-day NLA Charrette was convened to help inform thinking around the next iteration of the London Plan in the run up to a new Mayor. It provided an exciting and unique opportunity for the voice of the built environment profession to feed into this work.
All sessions were videoed and recorded, and will result in the publication of a report and policy recommendations for the next London Mayor. The report will be circulated to key policy-makers and industry professionals in early 2016 and will also be available online for the public to view.
Format
The day was facilitated by Malcolm Smith, Arup Fellow of Masterplanning and Urban Design and followed the format of a ‘World Cafe’ – a fast-paced, continuously moving series of discussions which built on each other, resulting in each attendee contributing to all topics by the end of the day. With 8 groups of 10, each group moved through eight discussion topics throughout the day, chaired by an Arup expert.
