In today’s SketchUp quick tip, we’re going to talk about how to quickly save a view in SketchUp with scenes.
Often times in a SketchUp model, you’re going to want to keep going back to a certain camera angle, but trying to rotate back and find that same camera angle can be a little annoying.
Instead, what you can do is save your camera angle with a scene.
To do this, simply move your camera to the angle that you’d like, then go to view, animation, and click add scene. This will save your current view in a tab at the top of your screen, which you can then click on to go back to this view at any point.
You can save multiple views in this way, so any time you’d like to save a different view, you can simple add another scene, then click on them to cycle through them.
You can update a scene by navigating to a new camera angle or view, then right clicking on your scene tab and selecting “Update.”
You can save other properties in scenes as well, such as styles, section planes, layers, and other items.
You can manage your scenes using the scene manager in the tray, allowing greater control over the visibilities you save.
There are a lot more things you can do in scenes, but this was just a quick overview of this functionality. I’ll get more in-depth on this in the future.
