Critiquing several of the theoretical arguments made by Charles Jencks in his publication The Language of Post-Modern Architecture, the sociologist Conrad Jameson reflects on the social and architectural ramifications of a passage from the modern to the postmodern. Rather than postmodernism, Jameson argues that what the contemporary architectural scene is experiencing should be termed supermodernism.
