In this tutorial, weโll learn how to create a simple yet powerful workflow for designing a dissolving tile pattern in Grasshopper. This technique is highly flexible and can be adapted to different design scales, making it a great tool for landscape, facade, and interior projects. This video is based on clustering tiles based on their proximity to attractors, and youโll also learn how to shuffle their positions to create a smooth dissolving effect.
If you want to dive deeper into this topic I highly recommend you to checking out our mini-course called Landscape Design with Grasshopper. First, using Grasshopper we will create fluid-like pattern with multiple colors. Then we will tessallate the whole area and map the tiles color based on the that multi-colored fluid-like pattern. After that, I will show you really powerful method that we developed to create a dissolving pattern from one color tilling to another. This was really challenging even for me who use Grasshopper more than twelve years. Along the way, we will use new Rhino 8 features for creating layers and advanced baking with Grasshopper. On top of that we will create a render it with V-ray.
