“Out of Practice” with Gregg Pasquarelli

0:24 Introduction by Richard Sommer
6:55 Gregg Pasquarelli presentation

The John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design welcomed architect Gregg Pasquarelli to speak as part of the bulthaup lecture series on September 27, 2011.

Comprised of practitioners and educators committed to challenging the process of building, SHoP Architects (http://www.shoparc.com/#) is working to prove that beauty and technological proficiency are not mutually exclusive. SHoP looks at an entire project and considers each site, including the cultural and economic environment, a client’s physical needs and budget constraints, as well as construction techniques, branding, marketing, and post-occupancy issues. Great architecture demands that design, finance, and technology work together, and SHoP is combining these forces in innovative ways to create a new model for the profession.

The Daniels Faculty would like to thank bulthaup Toronto for its generous sponsorship of this lecture: www.toronto.bulthaup.com
