NICHE PANEL: The Future of Architecture

Speaker will make a brief 5-minute presentation sharing insights into their very diverse spatial practices, followed by a discussion on the hot topics that architects face now and in the future.

Moderator: Ludwig Engel works as a futurist and urbanist on questions dealing with long-term strategy, the future city and urban utopias. He currently teaches Strategic Foresight and Futurology at University of Fine Arts Berlin and the Architecture Design Innovation Program at Technical University Berlin.

Panellists:
Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge, Architect, June14 – After graduating from the ETH Zürich she worked for SANAA in Tokyo for five years. In 2010 she founded the office June14 Meyer-Grohbrügge & Chermayeff and in 2015 Büro Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge. Johanna is a guest professor at DIA Dessau. She also taught at Columbia GSAPP, the Northeastern University Boston and the Washington University St. Louis.

Daria Grouhi, Director, Kühn Malvezzi – The German-Iranian architect was trained at the Technical University Berlin and London’s Metropolitan University. Daria Grouhi is a guest critic at TU Berlin. In 2010 Daria joined Kuehn Malvezzi architects and is now one of the three female directors of the practice.

Anna Heilgmeir, Planner and Architect – In teaching and researching Anna’s focus lays on the built space as common property, cooperative and collective models for living forms and their production, reproduction and the risk of external levy. She is cofounder of the planning and research cooperative coop.disco. Since 2016 she is teaching at the CUD, Chair for Urban Design and Urbanization, at the TU-Berlin.
