NICHE PANEL: Educational Performance
In this panel we want the three professors of the three Berlin universities that teach architecture explain the main emphasis of their educational profile and debate their teaching ideas and methods to prepare their students for their future work life.
Moderator: Professor Jörg Stollmann is an architect and urban researcher based in Zurich and Berlin. He is co-founder of urbaninform.
Panellists:
PROFESSOR BETTINA GÖTZ, UDK (Universität der Künste Berlin) is an architect and has been Professor of Design and Building Construction at Berlin University of the Arts since 2006. In 1985 she founded ARTEC Architekten with Richard Manahl in Vienna and won the Prize of the City of Vienna for Architecture in 2005. In October 2017 she was appointed Member of the Advisory Board for Urban Development and Planning for the City of Vienna.
PROFESSOR ROBERT DEMEL is the head of the Department of Sustainable Building at Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin. He is concerned with making the process of planning transparent, so that the architectural development and the performance of a building interlock efficiently.
MATTHIAS VON BALLESTREMis a guest professor at the TU Berlin since 2013. Besides his work for the Chair for Construction and Design by Prof. Regine Leibinger he runs his architecture office Studio Ballestrem.
